How your Low weeks are really your best weeks

Have you ever had a week where your numbers were really low? Maybe life was more hectic than usual, or you didn’t quite follow your goals. Maybe your content was off or maybe you just missed the mark.

The beauty in social media is that it is ever changing. It’s not the same one month to the next. The ever changing-ness of social media is what makes it fun to do, it’s the challenge of moving forward with what’s current. Then, you hit your low week. Posts just don’t reach as far as you were hoping, and you didn’t meet your goals.

Here’s where this is actually your best week. Why? Because this is point where you can gauge what it is that went wrong.

If you’ve been doing the same thing for a while, this would be a good time to start experimenting. Just like science class, make sure not to change all the variables at once. Try one variable a week, keeping everything else but the variable the same.

Some variables to experiment with:

Times of posts

Quantity – more or less posts a week

Personality – adding things that make your business more personal/relatable

Just text – it sounds crazy, but these get 40% more views statistically

If you’ve been switching it up a lot lately, look over what has worked in the past month. It may have been that you just had a bad week, and there wasn’t anything particular that needed changing. Then take the same approach, tweak things more slowly to see what works best for your audience.

Taking time to rethink your strategy or content can bring out the quality you really want to give your audience. Looking at the numbers, what’s your biggest weakness? Research this topic and spend the next month on strengthening this weak spot.

REMEMBER Rome wasn’t built in a day. There will be rough days, but these days don’t define you. If you use your weaknesses to discover new strengths your social media will grow WITH your audience.
